Educational Opportunity Center assists adults in furthering their education with the following services:

Educational:

  • GED Preparation and referrals
  • Information on local college, universities, and trade-technical schools
  • Assistance - guidance in completing college admission applications
  • Information on institutional tuition and fees
  • Academic advising

Financial Aid:

  • Information on Federal and State Financial Aid Programs
  • Assistance - guidance in filling out financial aid forms
  • Scholarship information sources for the disadvantage population.

Career:

  • Career advisement
  • Career resource library
  • Career guidance materials
  • Resume writing tools
  • Career assessment tools

Workshops:

  • Study skills
  • Test taking tips
  • Goal setting


 

Eligibility

1. Enrollment in the UNM Educational Opportunity Center is open to individuals who are:

  • U.S. Citizen/Legal Resident
  • 19 years old and over
  • Resident of Bernalillo, Torrance, or Valencia County.

2. Eligibility Requirements:

  • First Generation (neither parent has a bachelor.s degree)
    And-Or
  • Low-Income (taxable income below the 150% poverty level)
