Eligibility

Students must be a currently enrolled full-time at the UNM Main Campus and be a US citizen or permanent resident. Additional eligibility criteria for students are based upon federal guidelines. Students must also meet at least ONE criteria or a combination of the criteria listed below:

  • Are a first generation college student. Meaning neither parent has received a bachelors degree, OR
  • Are income eligible according to the federal TRIO "taxable" guidelines, OR
  • Have a documented disability.

    Disability according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the University of New Mexico Policy 2310 is defined as a substantial limitation of a major life function. This includes students with visual, hearing, learning, psychological, orthopedic, and chronic health disabilities. Students enrolled in Student Support Services must register with UNM's Accessibility Services for the potential of additional academic services. UNM's Accessibility Services
